Beta #2

Beta #2 was last Wednesday (4/21). Rena gave blood early that morning and we anxiously waited for the phone call that afternoon. This is the same test that was done last week, which measures the hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). A healthy pregnancy is indicated by this number doubling every 48-72 hours. They also measure her Estrogen levels and Progesterone levels. Both of these will vary each time but as long as Estrogen >100 and Progesterone >25 it is good.

The bloodwork came back GREAT! The nurse said everything looked wonderful and we were right on track.

hCG=1647
Estrogen = 619
Progesterone = 88.6

Next Wednesday 4/28 we will have the first ultrasound. We hope to hear 2 little heartbeats :) But we have been warned that it is not unusual to not hear a heartbeat at 6 weeks, so not to worry if we don't.
