Yesterday was Veteran's Day. Leslie and I are very proud to have grandfathers that served in World War II. My Grandfather, Horace Frank Vandiver was stationed in Italy and served as a communicator to the Air Force as they bombed the Germans. Leslie’s Grandfather Claude Thomas Bates served during the war as well. My cousin, Michael Greene is currently serving in the Air Guard, but was active during the Gulf War. We are so proud to be Americans, and its people like this that make me personally swell with pride when I look at our flag and am so thankful to live in this great country. It is veterans like this that allow those of you who are reading this to read it in English, and not Japanese or German. Thank you men and women in the armed forces!!
Leslie, along with her mom and Aunt Sherry, got to have lunch with her Grandfather on Veteran's Day. They not only celebrated his service to the country but also his 88th birthday, which is tomorrow.

Hey, Les! You have been on my mind like cah-razy, girl! Hope you are doing well!
ReplyDeletep.s. we should be coming up there when we're home for Christmas, so we'll have to meet for coffee!
